Alamo Group Inc. Outside Parts Sales Representative - VT Territory in HOPKINTON, New Hampshire

HP Fairfield (a member of Alamo Group Inc.) is currently looking for a Product Support Specialist Representative to join its team at its New Hampshire office in Hopkinton, NH. Please note the territory will cover Vermont.

The overall function of this position is to generate parts and service sales, as well as assist both current and new customers plan for their future needs. This consultative sales role introduces customers and prospects to innovative products and performs regular service and ongoing training to our clients. PSSR also performs additional duties as needed for Howard P. Fairfield, including but is not limited to generating increased parts sales, sales equipment leads, assisting with equipment demonstrations while running a regular route of sales calls.

The Product Support Specialist Representative will:

  • Maintain and grow part sales within an existing territory, with specific focus on government and contractor accounts. Heavy face to face, cold calling is involved.

  • Run a regular route of appointments and visits that provide high visibility for HP Fairfield, our products and services. This involves an extensive amount of driving.

  • Uncover opportunities for Sales Team in Snow and Ice Control, Municipal Equipment and Service to follow-up on.

  • Meet or exceed targeted part sales goals on a quarterly basis.

  • Combine mechanical aptitude and technical/problem solving ability to help identify problem areas, as well as demonstrate safe equipment use and ensure that all HP Fairfield products are fully operational.

  • Incorporate hands-on, mechanical service with HP Fairfield’s consultative part sales approach to enhance total value for the customer.

  • Display, demonstrate and sell products, using samples or catalogs, to emphasize the salient features.

  • Provide emergency service or proper direction to customers on an as-needed basis.

The Ideal Candidate will have/be:

  • A valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record

  • Able to use a smart phone, tablet, and laptop

  • Knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and other web platforms

  • Able to read and comprehend instructions/information in English

  • Able to relate to the customer in a positive, proactive manner

  • Mechanical knowledge (e.g. plumbing, electrical and/or mechanical experience) and problems solving skills to troubleshoot and assist in repairing equipment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in job situations including regular contact and interaction with people at all levels

  • Self-motivated. Able to work independently without constant direction or supervision. This position requires a high level of autonomy.

  • Commitment to teamwork and safety.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent, BA preferred but not required for the right candidate.
