Royal Truck & Equipment (an Alamo Group company) is currently accepting applications for an Engineering Internship at our facility in Shoemakersville, PA.

The Engineering Intern will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, aiding in the design and documentation of customer highway safety trucks. The Intern will gain experience on integration of systems with commercial chassis to include electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Create models and drawings to aid production

• Verify design capabilities and limitations via finite element analysis

• Communicate as required to all levels of the organization on project status and goals

• Opportunity to learn and improve personal knowledge as an individual and as part of a group

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems

• Solidworks modeling and drawing

• Microsoft Office

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• High level of self-motivation and problem solving

• Detail driven to accurately track, report, and meet project goals and deadlines

Education and Experience:

Intern must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited undergraduate program pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field. Preferably, the intern will have completed at least two (2) years of undergraduate study. The internship is intended to run concurrently with the selected student’s academic studies.
